MUSE – A Movie In The Making

The REEL TRASH gang was formed to work on film making projects together and help support each other in our own little endeavors.

Right now MIKE is working to raise funding for his feature film project MUSE.

MUSE – Greatness requires a sacrifice…Writer Jeff has had a taste of success early in his career and he’s under a deadline to deliver his next big project. While struggling to find inspiration and fighting fears of failure he takes on a new assistant named Lorne. Through the stress, collaboration and signs of progress Jeff slips into his claustrophobic imagination and MUSE “explores what happens when the veil between fantasy and reality begins to crumble, a dark morality tale that looks at how desire for something more, something better, can sometimes cost more than you’re willing to pay.”

For more information on the film and how you can help a movie dream come truevisit Mike’s IndieGoGo site and contribute. IndieGoGo allows users of various artistic mediums to raise the necessary capital through a form of mass collaboration known as crowd sourcing. This new form of funding has allowed many burgeoning feature and documentary filmmakers to get their first project off the ground.

Check it out!

Pass on the word about MUSE! (Click any MUSE link and see the IndieGoGo page!!!)

REEL TRASH is doing what we can and it’s all for the love of movies! “Let’s get into trouble baby.”

Editing Our Comedy Short – EXPLODING POSTEMS!

It’s funny the way silly ideas come to fruition. A passing thought, joke or comment can blossom into something awesome and so it is with our EXPLODING POSTEMS idea.

Beware Exploding Postems! Beware!

Earlier this Summer the REEL TRASH team got together to film EXPLODING POSTEMS, (even before we made TURD DOPPLER) starring our friend and lovely actress Julia and Reel Trash contributor Aaron. With Dave directing,  Mike behind the camera and me (Cathie) producing we all spent two hot hot days shooting in an office space in the Valley of Los Angeles.

With all our footage “in the can” we got to editing right away, but then hit a few speed bumps with computer issues and well things come up, like TRUD DOPPLER, but the whole time we’ve been putting the bits and pieces together to get EXPLODING POSTEMS done and ready to share with the world.

Back in the editing phase full time it’s really coming together and we want to share what’s making us giddy in our dark little corners. So here’s a few pictures of what we’ve got in store. Hope you dig it! We’re going for a real big BANG!

Julia Has Fist Pumping Power!!

Aaron Is In Exploding Postem Pain!!

Stay tuned for more! You’re world will ignite with our awesome and you’ll want EXPLODING POSTEMS too!

Fantastic Fest Bumper Results

The Fantastic Fest is almost over and this past Monday, September 27 the film awards were announced and the bumper contest winner was chosen. Sadly Reel Trash’s TURD DOPPLER was not the winner. But with 200+ views on YouTube we’re glad people are watching and having a few laughs. Yeah, go watch TURD DOPPLER again:

But since it’s not just about our little video world, we are sharing the other bumpers and offer our congratulations to the  winner CHERRY PIE. It is grossly inappropriate and now you can watch it and be grossed out too:

We’d also like to share another bumper which did hit the Alamo Drafthouse big screen and was made by many of our Austin pals, it’s called PLAN B and delivers some naughty zombies.

Up next is a bumper made by Austin-ite Brian Kelly who’s @BTSjunkie on Twitter and a close friend of Cathie’s. His bumper is called THE SCRATCHING POST:

Once more, CONGRATS to CHERRY PIE and here’s hoping that there’s still a chance for TURD DOPPLER to hit the big screen before FANTASTIC FEST ends on September 30th!

Production Continues and More Turd Doppler Flashbacks

The Reel Trash Gang is here!! We continue to work on plans for the next short, which is still being kept secret at this point, but I will share that the storyboards are being drawn. The creative juices are flowing and if you’ve seen TURD DOPPLER then you know we take our “juices” and other “fluids” quite seriously.

Speaking of TURD DOPPLER, the 30 second short is still being passed around and everyone is laughing along with us. We have our fingers crossed that it will grace the screens of the ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE in Austin, Texas during the FANTASTIC FEST that starts the 23rd of this month. Please cross your fingers for us too! We want to world to be aware of the TURD DOPPLER bug which is still on the loose!

While I’m at it and worrying about foreign bugs I’ll share’s a few more pictures from the TURD DOPPLER production…

This little guy is our cute little embryo Doppler…

Here we have Dave directing Mike and Kyle

Just Do It!

And last but certainly not least our actor Kyle who got to chill out and work on his tan as we all looked on…

This concludes our Monday update. We hope you stay tuned for more news as we will be following FANTASTIC FEST closely for reports of what hits their screen and any reactions TURD DOPPLER gets.

If you’re interested in our next project comment and let us know, maybe we’ll share some of our storyboards next.

Let’s hear it for indie cinema! Reel Trash is here to cause some trouble, cinematic trouble. Look Out!
